“Why am I asked to update my health history each visit?”
Your mouth and your body are not separate entities. Medical conditions and medications that are taken for those conditions can affect your mouth, which is why we say oral health equals overall health. In addition, taking certain medications or having certain medical conditions may require clearance from your physician prior to some dental work.
Updating your information in the portal takes just a few minutes. If there are no changes to your health and/or medications since your last update, a quick review is all that is needed. If there have been changes since your last visit, it is important that we know, as this may impact the course of your dental treatment.
Prior to your appointment, you will receive an e-mail which will contain a link to update your medical history and other pertinent information via our secure portal. Please be sure to complete these forms at least 24 hours prior to your appointment to allow us time to review your updates. In addition, please take note of the “patient photo” area in your portal. We use your photo as an added layer of security and for patient identification, so please be sure you have uploaded one.
