If you have wisdom teeth that are fully erupted (meaning that the tooth has fully come out of the gums), don't forget about them when you are brushing your teeth.
Since wisdom teeth (also called third molars) are positioned so far back in the mouth, it is easy to forget about them - so be sure your toothbrush reaches back far enough to brush them.
So…why are they called “wisdom teeth,” anyway? Because they appear so late, at an age when a person matures into adulthood and is “wiser” than when their previous teeth had erupted.
